Name: John Laplooi
Age: 72
1. How many people were there in your parents family?
By my mother was it 5 and by my father was it also 5.
2. How many people lived in the same house?
We lived with 6 people in one house. 5 of the family and 1 aunt.
3. What was the profession of your father/mother?
My father was warehouse clerk of the V&D.
First, my mother was servant, but later she was housekeeper
4. Were did you live with your parents?
I lived together with my parents and aunt in Maastricht.
5. Do you remember any historical fact/event when you were a teenager or in India or in Europe or worldwide? Why has that event impressed you?
A historical event was, if you went to the high you mostly got a new bike, which still happens. It impressed me, because not everyone got a new bike most of the people got a second-hand bike.

By my mother was it 13 and by my father was it 10

I lived with 4 people in one house.

When I was 16 years old, I got a moped.

O yes, many changes. Children now have the choice what they are doing in their free time: sports (club), playing music if they like. They discuss much with their parents: bedtime, coming home, using their smartphone, what they don’t like to eat and so on… A horrible time for the parents, I guess… :p - What are the three most important characteristics of a family?
